This product can be used with target amplification methods, including TMA and real-time PCR assays. It is useful for training and instrument system validation. This panel is For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Summary and Explanation
The Blood Bank Training Panel was designed to meet the need for a qualification and validation panel for the detection of HIV-1 RNA, Hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA and Hepatitis C virus (HCV) RNA. The panel helps ensure that nucleic acid testing procedures are properly validated, operators are qualified and that test results are comparable across test manufacturers, laboratories, operators, platforms and assay formats.
Product Description
The Blood Bank Training Panel members have been carefully formulated to mimic naturally occurring human specimens containing HIV RNA, HBV DNA and HCV RNA. Each member contains natural virus adjusted to specific concentrations within a human plasma matrix. This product contains intact, viral particles to control sample extraction, amplification and detection. It does not contain purified, free viral RNA or DNA.
The Blood Bank Training Panel members were prepared by making dilutions of the different NAT standards into normal human plasma (NHP). The NHP was tested negative for HBV DNA, HCV RNA, HIV-1 RNA, antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2, HBsAg, antibodies to Hepatitis B core and surface antigen, antibodies to HCV and antibodies to HTLV I-II.
