MPx Operator Training Panel
The MPx Operator Training Panel can be used to train laboratory personnel on the s201 Taqscreen MPX and Ampliscreen Resolution testing. The three panel members contain target materials for HIV-1, HCV, and HBV, and are intended to be used to simulate positive patient samples through the entire MPx assay process. Summary
The MPx Operator Training Panel members were produced by diluting concentrated HIV-1, HCV and HBV stock virus into defibrinated, delipidized normal human plasma (NHP). The HIV-1 stock virus was propagated in culture, and heat inactivated prior to use. The HCV stock virus was derived from heat-inactivated HCV RNA positive human serum or plasma. The HBV stock virus was derived from heat-inactivated HBV DNA positive human serum or plasma.
The HIV-1 RNA concentration of the product Is targeted at 1500 IU/mL, the HCV RNA concentration is targeted at 340 IU/mL, and the HBV DNA concentration is targeted at 150 IU/mL. In order to meet global standardization and harmonization requirements, each panel member has been calibrated against the World Health Organization (WHO) International Standard for HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA or HBV DNA.
Expected results utilizing the TaqScreen MPX and AmpliScreen Positive Target Panel must be established by the end user for their particular assay.
Principles of the Procedure
The MPx Operator Training Panel members have been carefully formulated to mimic naturally occurring human specimens containing HIV-1 RNA, HCV RNA, and HBV DNA. Additionally, the intact virus format of the MPx Operator Training Panel allows for verification of an effective viral DNA and RNA extraction procedure. As such, the test methodology must include an extraction step that releases the viral DNA or RNA and makes it available for amplification and/or hybridization, as appropriate to the test.
This product contains 0.05% sodium azide and 0.05% gentamicin sulfate as preservatives.
