OptiQual® MRSA Positive Control

Introducing the first standardized control for MRSA molecular testing! The OptiQual® MRSA Positive Control is intended for use in assessing the performance of nucleic acid test procedures for the determination of the presence of MRSA DNA. Use of OptiQual® MRSA Positive safely & accurately helps to ensure that nucleic acid testing results for MRSA DNA are consistent across manufacturers, testing laboratories, operators, platforms and assay formats. This product is for In Vitro Diagnostic Use.

Procedure

This control is designed as an unassayed control for use in qualitative molecular test procedures for the detection of MRSA DNA.

The OptiQual® MRSA Positive Control has been formulated to mimic naturally occurring human specimens containing MRSA. The controls contain intact MRSA bacteria, and are designed to monitor all procedural steps in test procedures, from extraction to amplification and detection.

Routine use of these controls enables laboratories to monitor day-to-day test variation, lot-to-lot performance of test kits, and operator variation, and can assist in identifying increases in random or systematic error.

Interpretation of Results

Expected results utilizing the OptiQual® MRSA Positive Control must be established by the end user for their particular MRSA DNA assay.
