OptiQuant® BKV Quantification Panel

The OptiQuant® BKV Quantification Panel is intended to assess the performance of quantitative and qualitative molecular diagnostic test procedures for the determination of human BK virus DNA. The panel was developed for use on multiple extraction and amplification systems and features a large dynamic range, mimics a true patient plasma sample, and ensures reproducible and consistent results.

The OptiQuant BKV Quantification Panel is a vital component of a laboratory’s quality system. It allows laboratories to easily validate or verify a range of BK virus concentrations that encompasses the majority of patient samples due to its wide dynamic range. Additionally, the panel enables laboratories to verify the reliability of their BK virus assays over time, as it provides reproducible results from lot to lot. This superior consistency is the result of the panel being manufactured in accordance with the ISO 17511 standard. Finally, to ensure that the laboratory controls the full process from extraction through amplification and detection, the panel members contain whole virus in an EDTA-based normal human plasma matrix that effectively mimics naturally occurring patient samples.

Convenient and ready to use, this standardized, serially diluted panel can help users establish or verify performance specifications for the linearity, accuracy, precision, reportable range, and analytical sensitivity and specificity of their BK virus assays. It may also be used for training and proficiency testing of laboratory personnel. The OptiQuant BKV Quantification Panel is a key tool for laboratories in optimizing molecular BK virus assay performance and will ultimately improve the management of transplant patients.

Product Description

The OptiQuant BKV Quantification Panel contains human BK virus. Panel members were produced by making quantitative dilutions of BK virus into normal human EDTA plasma. The plasma was tested and found to be non-reactive for HCV RNA, HBV DNA, and HIV-1 RNA, as well as non-reactive for antibodies to HIV-1 and HIV-2, and HBsAg. This product is For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
