WNV Training Panel
The WNV Training Panel is intended for use in the qualification of operators and for assessing the performance of nucleic acid test procedures for the determination of West Nile Virus (WNV) RNA. This product is for Research Use Only. Not for Use in Diagnostic Procedures.
Summary
The WNV Training Panel was designed and developed to meet the need for a qualification and validation panel for the detection of WNV RNA in donor blood samples. The panel helps ensure that nucleic acid test procedures are properly validated and that test results are consistent across manufacturers, testing laboratories, operators, platforms and assay formats. The panel consists of six members of varying target concentration. As such, use of the WNV Training Panel ensures satisfactory operator qualification and assay performance at low, mid and high titers of WNV in human plasma.
Principles of the Procedure
The WNV Training Panel members have been carefully formulated to mimic naturally occurring human specimens containing WNV. Additionally, the intact virus format of the WNV Training Panel allows for verification of an effective viral RNA extraction procedure. As such, the test methodology must include an extraction step that releases the viral RNA and makes it available for transcription, amplification and/or detection, as appropriate to the test.
The WNV Training Panel members contain inactivated WNV.
This product contains 0.05% sodium azide and 0.05% gentamicin sulfate as preservatives.
The target concentrations are manufacturing targets and may not represent actual results reported by the WNV RNA assay.
